A service couple's contract and rights

Each member of the service couple is hired as an individual domestic employee, with a written contract from day one. The maximum working week is 40 hours per person, with weekly rest and holidays.

Hiring a service couple: what you need to know

As these are two live-in employees, the cost starts at around €3,000/month over 12 payments (two salaries above the 2026 SMI) plus Social Security, with accommodation and board included. We prepare a tailored quote based on the property.

Usually one member handles the home, cooking and cleaning, and the other handles maintenance, gardening and security. We adapt the roles to the needs of your property.

For estates, villas and large residences that require a complete, trusted in-house service. We also coordinate larger teams if the property needs it.

Yes. Each member of the couple is hired and registered with Social Security from day one, independently and with their own contribution, whatever their schedule. We guide you with both contracts.
