Free calculators and templates for household employers in Spain 2026
Three free calculators for anyone employing staff at home in Spain: what a domestic worker costs with Social Security, what her monthly payslip looks like and what severance she is owed when the contract ends. All of them use the 2026 minimum wage (€1,424.50/month over 12 payments) and the official contribution brackets and rates, with no sign-up and no personal data. Below, the templates to sign and our labour service if anything is unclear.

How the figures are calculated and where they come from
The three calculators share the same 2026 constants: the national minimum wage, the eight contribution brackets of the Special System for Household Employees, the rates for common and occupational contingencies, unemployment, the wage-guarantee fund and the MEI, and the employer's reductions and rebates (20% on common contingencies and 80% on unemployment and the wage-guarantee fund; for large families, 45% on common contingencies instead of the 20%). Every figure comes from the rule published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), read in full, and is reviewed as soon as the year's contribution order is published.
Where the rule does not set a literal formula we flag it as a working criterion: pro-rating fractions of a year by month in the severance, valuing a day of holiday at 1/30 of the monthly salary and the extra payment at 1/360 of the annual salary. The result is indicative and does not replace professional advice: if your case involves several employers, ongoing sick leave or special agreements, write to us and we will look at it with you.

FAQ
Questions about the calculators
- Are the calculators free?
- Yes. All three calculators and every template are free, with no sign-up and no personal data. The payslip and severance PDFs download free as well. If you then want us to look at your case, our labour service answers your questions at no cost.
- Is a payslip mandatory for a domestic worker in Spain?
- Yes. RD 1620/2011 requires the employer to document the salary with a pay receipt (the payslip) that the worker signs every month, including hourly work and even though a private employer withholds no income tax. The payslip calculator or the Excel template does it in a minute.
- Who prepares a domestic worker's payslip?
- The employer, i.e. the family that hires: the law does not require an accountant. You work out the month's salary, deduct the worker's contribution (6.40% of the base) and hand over the signed receipt. The employer's contribution is debited by Social Security and is not deducted from the payslip. If you would rather we did it, write to us.
- How much severance does a domestic worker get?
- The final pay always adds the salary for the month worked, the proportional share of the extra payments and any untaken holiday. Severance depends on the reason: 12 days' pay per year worked (capped at 6 months' pay) when the employer ends the contract for a justified reason, 33 days per year (capped at 24 months) for an unfair dismissal, 12 days per year at the end of a temporary contract, one month's pay if the employer dies and none if the worker resigns. The severance calculator itemises it for each case.
