What are the total costs?
- Agency fee — One-off payment when you hire. One month's salary + VAT.
- Employee's salary — Paid monthly, at the end of each month.
- Social Security — Charged by the TGSS to your account from the month after registration.

The fee is around 7% of your total first-year investment; the rest is your employee's salary and Social Security, which you would pay with or without an agency.

What families ask us before starting
How long does the selection take?
In most cases, the first verified profiles reach your portal in under 3 hours from the moment you tell us what you need; very specific profiles can take up to 48 hours. The full process, including interviews and the trial, usually closes within a few days.
How much does the service cost?
The fee is one month of the agreed gross salary (calculated over 12 payments) plus VAT, in a single payment and only if you hire. Everything before that — profiles, interviews, reference checks — is free.
What if the person doesn't work out?
If within the first 6 months the person leaves or doesn't settle in, we select a replacement at no cost (in Madrid, Barcelona and Marbella). And wherever you are, if you're not satisfied during the first month, we refund 50% of the fee.
What if none of the candidates convinces me?
You pay nothing. The selection has no cost and no obligation: we keep proposing profiles until we find the right person, and if you decide not to hire, there is no charge.
Can I try the candidate before hiring?
Yes. The service includes an optional 2-day trial at your home before you make the final decision, with no obligation. The trial days are paid directly to the candidate.
What do I gain over searching on my own?
Time and safety. We interview in person, verify every reference directly with previous employers and check documentation before we present any candidate to you. And if the person doesn't work out, you're covered by our guarantee. Searching on your own, you carry that risk yourself.
What is a placement agency (agencia de colocación)?
In Spain, selecting and placing domestic staff is reserved for placement agencies, which operate with a number from the public employment service (SEPE). Maids & Co is a placement agency with number 1300000318. Before hiring any agency, ask for its number and check it.
Who handles the contract and Social Security?
The employer registers the employee, but you're not on your own: we guide you through the whole procedure and, if you prefer, our labour & legal team handles the contract, registration and payroll as an optional service.
Which areas do you cover?
We select staff for families all over Spain: live-in and live-out staff in Madrid, Barcelona, Marbella, Ibiza, Mallorca and Valencia, and live-in staff in the rest of the country. Also in Andorra and twelve European countries, the United Kingdom among them; we recruit remotely and travel when needed.
